Default Stock exhaust "buzz" double wall const. ??

If I am informed correctly, the stock exhaust has a double wall construction from the 3 bolt flange at the header end to the start of the cat.

It looks like it. Helps the cats heat faster.

I have a tinny metallic buzz that happens every time I pass thru 3k rpm.

A tech on another forum said try putting some dimples/pinches in the outer pipe & I did that as best I could with a big c clamp, but it wasn't much as that pipe is a tough one to bend.

I also loosened the flange to check the exhaust gasket material & it looked ok no cracks & no telltale exhaust gas marks from a leak.

Now once it warms up the buzz seems gone only happens on cold engine, so I think the inner pipe expands enough to contact the pinch I put in & quiet down.

Anyone else have this & what did you do to quiet the buzz (besides put a different system in).

Pinch it a few more times?

I have checked the rest of the hangers, welds, etc. & it seems to come from up front. 45k miles 2004.
Thanks.
