Default Reinstalling Eccentric Bolts - Advice Needed

I'm removing the Pfadt camber kit from my car and going back to stock. When I removed the stock eccentric bolts the aluminum bolt sleeves were damaged/destroyed.

Does anybody know for certain if the sleeves are needed or can I get by without them. I'm not sure what purpose they serve.

I'd need to buy all new eccentric bolts as the sleeves are not sold by themselves and they are rather pricey.

TIA

Rick

I took a whole box of stock eccentrics to the metal recycler a few months ago. I'm sure someone on here will have the stock stuff laying around.

I'm curious, why are you going back to stock? I was considering the Pfadt camber kit to make alignments easier and more repeatable.

Our camber kit is a great way to really secure the alignment for your C5 and C6 cars. We've had a factory eccentric slip while on track and it sure wasn't fun. That incident really spurred us on to develop our camber kit.

As far as replacement stock hardware goes, you may want to try giving Corvette Recycling a call. They should have plenty of the factory hardware on one of their vehicles. When ever we need a factory piece and we can't find it in house they normally can get us taken care of. Their number is 801-447-4700.

For a street/track car the Pfadt kit is good for changing alignment back and forth. I bought a GTA/GT1 race car so my C6Z is now only a street car. Aligning with shims as it's very time consumiing and a pain in the ***. You need to insert/remove shims, bolt everything down and install tire then put alignment head on and take a reading. Remove everything and again insert/remove shim(s) and put head and tire on and keep going until you get it where you want.

With the eccentrics you just put the head on and turn the eccentric to where you want it, bolt it down and you're done.

I'll have a kit for sale in a little bit.....

Rick

Anyone know if the C5 bolts are the same as the C6 bolts?

I'm 99% sure they are, but you'd have to verify somehow. I tried to track down the OEM part numbers with no luck.
