Default -RELEASE- New LG Motorsports Carbon Clutch

Hey guys,

We just received this in this morning. New LG Motorsports exclusive carbon clutch.

This carbon/carbon unit weighs in at a very light 17.6 lbs with a diameter of only 8". Combined with the small diameter and lightweight construction you will have a very low moment of inertia for very quick revs. We expect holding capacity in excess of 1000 HP.

Details on pricing, and availability coming soon!

For track cars only or would it work on the street? Because of the low inertia would you notice any deceleration in between gear shifts on a road course? What slave cylinder will it work with? How would you compare this to the RPS BC3 Triple Carbon? Any guess on price range? Will this be available to see at the PRI show next month?

Sorry for all the questions but that's a nice looking piece!

It will be a complete bolt in unit. Look for more specs and pricing details later this week.

We are gearing up for production, Price is going to be in the 3500 range, which is around half the cost of a tilton, with similar weight and easily rebuilt.

Anthony,

Thanks for posting the pictures.

Is this clutch a "light-switch", or can its engagement be modulated for use on the street?

If its anything like the carbon clutches i've seen on evos you wouldn't want to drive it on the street. Carbon clutches need to be hot to work well. When they are cold they wear very quickly. You would kill it with normal street driving.

Probably just fine, it looks like RPS makes it for LG.
Billet Twin, or Triple, with a super lightweight flywheel. Should work pretty well.
