1980 Corvette Widebody Racer For Sale
It is with much regret that I post this ad. I've come to the conclusion after owning this race car for the past 10 yrs that I just don't have the time to use and enjoy it, so I'm selling it. Hopefully, the new buyer will use and enjoy it more than I have.
1980 Corvette Widebody Vintage Road Race Coupe with long SCCA race history with log books. Professionally built and maintained. Fully caged with kicked out door bars. Semi-tube chassis with 2X3 front clip with new custom valved Bilstein coil-overs, Woodward power rack, Afco upper control arms with lower struts. R & S 5 link rear suspension with new Bilsteins. Wilwood brakes all around with 6 piston fronts, dual adjustable master cylinders. 358 Dry Sump, Roller cam engine with fresh Brodix ported track 1 heads. New triple disc clutch and Muncie CR 4-speed with Tilton Pedals. BBS 3 Piece Wheels 16x12, front tires 25x12x16, rear tires 27x14x16. Car rewired with Painless Wiring kit. New Afco aluminum radiator and fire suppression system..
SCCA# stamped on rollcage is 023-640. AMB Transponder hardwired. Car is not street legal. It will be sold on a bill of sale, no title.
The Vette is classified by SVRA in Group 10 as an IMSA GTO car. Registed with the Registry of Corvette Race Cars http://registryofcorvetteracecars.co.../view_cars/462
Fun, Fast, Reliable and Ready to run. A cheap way to go big bore vintage racing.

Dave,
Thanks. Good to hear from you. You are correct. No more fun for the $ then in big bore vintage racing.
I know you know how this feels. I'm sure if it does sell, I will miss it.
This car is truly a prefssionally well built, fast, great bang for the buck. I forgot to mention that it weighs 2580#s with fluids and 1/2 tank of gas and is set up for me (I'm 6'4", 220lbs), so it can fit a tall driver.

Greg, Good luck with the sale. The car's looking good!
I'm sure you don't remember me, but we met a couple years ago at NJMP. I was there with Jim Glass, but we met because I'm friends with Glen Adamanchuk. I was talking to Glen yesterday. When you talk to him, tell him you heard from the Glenn with 2 N's.

Glenn
Don't be so sure. I do remember you from NJMP. Photographer with all those great vintage race photos. Hope you are well. Will send Glen (with one "n") your regards, although he may have already seen them.
Thanks. Car is ready to run with a complete new top end of the motor done over the winter. Didn't get a chance to run it at all this season.

Need to get serious about selling
Racing season on the east coast is right around the corner. There must be someone looking for a proper, fast, well built vintage vette racer. I'm ready to move the race car.
