I always enjoy Johnny O'Connell's color commentary, but overall the show is nothing more than a review of the highlights, they really don't show much racing.
They need to figure out a way to improve the coverage, especially if you consider some of the other real lame sports that get much better coverage.

Such a shame with the coverage this season. I wonder if their contract will be the same next season (only live streaming with summary on broadcast the next day). You would think they might be sharp enough to learn and adapt...... maybe not.

Yes, interesting article.
I would hate to see RA get turned into condos.
Wouldn't mind if GA DP cars got sexier and ALMS withered. GA has a much better grip on rules parity and the racing (in all classes) is always close, which is way more exciting to watch than techno-wizardry domination.

Why would you ever not mind a racing series going under? I'm not a big fan of Grand-Am but wouldn't even consider not supporting a racing series. Every series I can find is DVR'd if for nothing else but ratings.
ALMS is somewhat handicapped by ACO/FIA rules which completely eliminate the competitiveness of anything but Turbo Diesel in LMP1, it's ridiculous what those cars can run compared to the NA ones. BMW's concessions and benefits have put a damper on what is still the most exciting GT series I've ever seen. For all I care, ALMS could get rid of LMP and add more cars to GTC and another GT category and go from there.
Grand-AM is boring to watch when almost all of the GT field is tube frame. DP racing is fun to watch, but the cars are ugly and the same car keeps dominating, buzzkill.

ALMS is screwed by the rules. I would prefer if everyone were in the same series and the series had more dates. I certainly do not want ALMS to die, but the current situation cannot last and I think GA presents a more viable future for sportscar racing. They seem to be big enough not to be bullied by mfgs, having NASCAR as a sugar daddy helps and I think they rightly realize that most people want closer racing than neater, $$ cars. If GA can work with DTM to get a common platform for GT or another class, all the better.
I like the ALMS cars, but technology gets boring if the racing isn't close and teams stop showing up.

I would prefer if all of the GT cars raced together like FIA GT and then mixed the prototype cars altogether and still keep two series. I don't think it's feasible to have one series with all of the teams, there would be a cluster of cars on the track to the point of ridiculousness.
LMP racing for ALMS is screwed and useless for 80% of the season, they need an alternative. However watching Audi and Peugeot go at it is well worth only seeing twice a year in the states if you have seen them in person.
