New Racing Seat Line-Up from Arizen Racing Sports!
Beginning in August we are offering 3 seating options for C5/C6 Corvettes. The first bucket seat option has taller, more aggressive side bolsters for those who prefer a true race seat feel. The bolsters taper to help with entry and exit. We will have both a cloth version and custom upholstered leather and leather/suede options. Starting pricing and options are shown below. Seats take approximately 4 weeks to produce from time of deposit.
Seat in cloth - $699
Seat in leather or leather/suede combination - $999
Available Corvette logos - $49 each
Painted seat shells - $180 per seat
Brackets for mounting to the o/e tracks - $99 per seat (please continue reading below for headroom information)
Custom mounting brackets with sliders - $299 per seat
The second bucket seat will be a lower side bolster version of the seat above. This will be ideal for those preferring a seat with easier entry and exit, while still providing greatly improved support over the stock seats. Both bucket seats will have 4, 5 or 6 point harness capability. We will post dimensions soon but if you would like to know how you'd fit in these seats you can sit in a Recaro Pole Position seat, which has similar shape and dimensions. A prototype of the lower side bolster version (without cover or harness cutouts) is below. We will update pictures as available. The stock seat belts will be easier to use with the lower sides as well.
We have hardware for mounting these to the stock power or manual tracks. However, all seats we have seen thus far mounted to the stock rails loose headroom, compared to the stock lowest position. We currently estimate about a 1" loss, but will confirm that on our next test fit. You could remove the rear bottom cushion while wearing a helmet and gain some of that back. We also offer a mounting bracket with sliders that sits the seat slightly lower than stock (about .5" - 1"). If you need to gain more headroom than this, a mounting system without sliders might be preferred. More on this later.
The third seat option is recommended for those wanting to retain the power tracks and not loose headroom. It is a custom seat back that bolts to the stock bottom. We make the complete back and provide a matching cover to reupholster the factory bottom. We can also add sub belt openings for the bottom if needed. This is a great option for C6 owners who want a less complicated install with regards to airbag issues. Since the o/e tracks and seat bottoms remain, your car still has the seat track positioning sensors (used to determine the force with which the front airbags will deploy), o/e seat belts and pre-tensioners and passenger occupant detection system still in the car. You should only need airbag simulators for the missing airbags in the seat backs to keep the remaining airbag system functioning. This all applies to those wanting to replace their C6 seats for daily driving. If you only need to replace seats for track use, installing our bucket seats on separate brackets that can be quickly swapped in and out for events might be a better option. This way your stock interior and airbag system is unaltered for daily driving. Either way, we can help! Pictures of our previous seat conversion our below. Based on feedback we will be making the back bolsters more aggressive, like the picture on the right.
Our C5/C6 seat conversion pricing is listed below.
Seat in cloth - $699
Seat in leather - $949
Alcantara/Suede inserts - add $50
Perforated inserts - add $45
Sub belt opening - add $50
Available logos - add $49
Seat Heaters - $119
Power Lumbar - $139 (must*supply power and ground)

Are they going to look EXACTLY like the first set freatured above, or is that what they "sort of will look like"?
What are the measurements on the seat as seen in all other seats? Height, seat width, upper back width, bolster height, etc etc....
I hope they will look exactly the same. That last "skeletal" design looked like an alien spaceship seat.
These look sweet and provide a second option for me....

We can make the new back and ship it to you with a new cover for the bottom. It bolts directly to the bottom just like factory so it's an easy install for anyone who feels they can follow directions to replace upholstery. If you want to add a sub belt hole, send us a new bottom foam and we will handle that for you. You will need to spread the two center wires from your bottom suspension outward, like we did on the frame below, to make room for the sub belt to pass through.
This back holds so well it won't matter the bottom is stock. If your near SE CT your welcome to see for yourself. Anyone interest in having these made, email me.

This option is for those wanting to keep their power tracks. If someone was into racing enough to need those options they'd be better off to replace the entire seat.

Here is a picture of the new back with a cover. The cover is a mismatch of colors (black and ebony) because we used scrap pieces just to test fit a new cover pattern for the deeper side bolsters. We can do either the C5 or C6 style upholstery.

Are they FIA approved? If they're not then do they have a provision for the back brace that many sanctioning groups require?

The seats are not FIA approved.
The replacement back has a tubular steel frame with a plate across the top from about 1.5" below the harness holes to the top of the seat. We could add another crossmember if it was needed lower and add nutserts to bolt directly into if desired.
With one piece fiberglass seats, do they require the back brace be bolted or just positioned directly behind the seat?

There was a discussion of this a while back on this forum. SCCA and NASA rules are slightly different. A lot of people don't like the back brace. Others do. Also, keep it mind that the FIA certification has an expiration date. At that point you're supposed to change seats or add a back brace. The enforcement seems a little spotty though.
