Default Which CCW's?

For my 2004 c5z?

I was thinking classics, but I want something that will fit over bigger brakes if I buy a c6z.

If I buy a c6z I'll run 18's.

Thanks.

I love how classics look... had 2 sets on my past C5s, but really don't care for them at the track. They make it hard to keep tabs on your brakes. One thing I really like about my 18" Z06 wheels all around is how easy it is to inspect my rotors etc.

I'd get T10s or T14s probably.

Some information to help with your decision, the C5 and C6Z run completely different sizes and backspaces. So even if you went with the Corsair line in C5 sizes etc they be the same as buying wheels for the C6Z.

The classics are lighter & cheaper but the brake clearance is not very good compared to the one piece models.

We like our "polished" classics, and John's personal service.

The Corsairs will fit over a BBK if you ever get BIG BRAKES.

Love my Classics but may not fit over a BBK except the Wilwood and maybe the StopTechs with a small spacer

The backspacing on a C5 and the backspacing on a C6 for the "correct" fitment are completely different. Especially the C6Z if you want to run optimal wheel sizes.

From the back of my c5z rims it says

17x9.5x54

18x10.5x58

if my old eyes can read the stampings correctly.

From another forum thread

C5 Z06.....17x9.5x54....18x10.5x58
C6...........18x8.5x56....19x10x79
C6 Z06.....18x9.5x40....19x12x59

The fronts are 14mm different in offset (and of course diameter is diff)

Rears only 1mm.

The front of the c6z got wider, so I guess gm moved the offset out, that how it works?

Maybe one of these would be enough to cover that big brake kit with ease?

The question/thread is about CCW--so start your own thread instead of hijacking someone else's thread. Just my 2 cents FWIW.

Maybe you do some research and answer the question instead of just dropping pics in a thread.
Just saying....

With those wheels you need a pimp suit to go over the race suit.

Soon as I saw it I winced and thought "uh oh, poser-wheels vendor about to hear it from the track crowd!"

Forum vendor so he CAN spam like that, but I think he needs to think a little bit more about his audience....

I don't mind his post, but, unless I am mistake OZ are big bucks wheels & I am a "best value" small budget guy.

If he wants to offer a group buy maybe he can sell a few sets.

I am surprised, in this economy, that we are not seeing more group buy offers, I am sure there is some pent up demand for go fast parts.

OZ is, I believe, a quality wheel.

A couple of them look pretty nice, others no so much.

The pics seem to feature the cars more than the wheels.

Like women, it's in the "eye of the beholder" yeah?

Wonder what kind of lap times I'd run with a nice 20/21" wheel combo.

To clear big brakes you need distance between the backside of the spokes and hub. Offset does not figure in.

To clear Hardbar AP T1 caliper kit:
17x9.5 x 54 mm C5 Z06 front clears by about 1/4"
17x9.5 x 56 mm Grand Sport coupe front needs a 5/8" spacer

Maybe I misunderstood what you are asking for.. Were you looking for wheels to fit on the C5Z that would clear C6Z brakes on that car? If so then we can do it with the Corsair line not the classics. Or are you looking for wheels for the C5Z that you can take off and put on the C6z later? That is where the problem lies... Unless you want to run an 18x12 rear on the back of your C5Z that is out past the fenders so it will convert over to the C6z later. We also run and 18x11 on the front a C6z for track use . Again the sizes and spacing just wouldn't convert between the 2 cars.
