Default Eric Curran | Whelen Motorsports Corvette @ VIR | In-Car Video

Met up with the Whelen Motorsports team and set up the GoPro on the roll cage for some in-car video during the Grand-Am Bosch Engineering 250 at Virginia International Raceway.

Boris Said started the race in second place. Torrential downpour.

The windshield wiper broke less than thirty seconds after leaving the pits for the recon laps. Rain-X was their only defense against the rain. About an hour into the race there were a few cautions that allowed them to pit under yellow while staying on the lead lap. It took four stops to finally get the wiper fixed. On that stop Eric Curran got into the car while under yellow and had a few great fast laps on the restart. Here are his two best laps:

Was that brake bias he was adjusting?

Great video -- He hits it harder in the rain than I can when it's dry !! Gotta love those sequential transmissions !!

Their new car is beautiful and Sonny and his crew are first class individuals. I hate that the current GT ruleset has their Vette barely competitive against the Camaro's - I would think that GM wouldn't like it either!

Either way, always great to see those guys run and that car has an intoxicating sound to it - good stuff.

Why do you feel that it's underpowered? Seemed to me like it was pretty competitive at Barber and VIR.

Looks like an insulated drink bottle hose

The Corvette is good package in Grand-Am, they will win before the year is out. They had the win at Barber in the bag until it broke in the closing stages.

The Corvette is 2700 lbs, or 2808 with a DP transaxle. Riley Tech. Camaro's are 2650 lbs, or 2756 with a DP transaxle. As far as I know all the Camaro's run the new DP trans.
