Default Katech's 3rd race program of 2011 to debut at Sebring this weekend

Earlier this year I talked about three new race programs at Katech, the Rolex Grand-Am Camaro GT.Rs, the World Challenge CTS-V.Rs, and one other that was not disclosed at that time. Well that third program will make its debut this weekend at the 12 Hours of Sebring. Katech is supporting every single LMPC team in 2011. In partnership with Chevrolet, Katech is rebuilding all LS3 race engines for LMPC teams as well as supplying all new engines. You will see some new decals on the car, a large Chevy bowtie as well as Katech corporate logo. Got to love it when every team is running a Katech engine. We are guaranteed a class win for 2011.

The LMPC rules require a near-stock blueprinted LS3. It is configured with front drive for the LMP car and a dry sump system.

Forget about shooting fish in a barrel. Knock the barrel over and be done with it

Good catch Jim! I guess I'm getting old like you. Hey, we used to run 24 Hours of Sebring with the Corvette GT1s. We would run the 12 Hours of Sebring then they would run another 12 hours of testing after the race to simulate Le Mans.

That is interesting that the LS3 was the engine of choice for LMPC. Maybe now the cars will have a little more torque out of the corners with that "good ole pushrod".

Between the Camaro GT.R, the Cadillac CTS-V.R, LMPC, European GT1 and all the street engines it has been very busy lately.

LMPC teams have 1-2 engines for the season. The engine is intended to last the entire race season.

Great to hear - the first I heard about it was on the radio broadcast of the race today when the commentators mentioned it.

BTW, motorcycle.com just published an article on the Motus bike and the V4 you guys designed. Are you just doing the design or also the builds? Maybe I can get matching bike motor built by Ron

A few LMPC cars with Katech logos:

Katech-powered Genoa racing finished first in LMPC. Mark down another win for Katech.

We were contracted to design and build the prototype engines. Whether or not we build production engines is still unknown.
