Tip for removing shocks......
2 hose clamps and a short piece of tie down strap.
Jack up the suspension, place clamp around top of shock and slide one end of the strap under it and tighten. Place other clamp around the body of shock and insert the other end of strap. One does not have to tighten very much and it will hold just fine. Lower jack and remove shock. This technique works well for installation, also. I guess it has taken me 3 sets of shocks to figure this one out.
