Default Which Oil Catch can?

Last weekend at the track I watched one of the guys (Dirty Howie) dump lots of oil from his catch can between every session. So I am thinking it is time to pick one up. Any recommendations?

Thanks,
Charley

Hey Charley , I bought CCA catch can and installed it a hour ago . Took twenty minuets.Cost $120.00 plus $6.00 shipping. They have instruction on there web sight.
I changed the valve on the bottom to one with a hose to make it easer to drain .
CCA is a forum vender.
Good luck Tris

Can you PM me how much you want for it? Also, do you have any website information so I can see what it looks like?

Thanks,
Charley

Thanks Tris, That is the one that has been the leading contender. Is it larger then the one Howie was using? I know he was saying that he wanted to get a larger one.

Thanks,
Charley

Have you experienced a specific issue that is related to oil vapor coming back into the intake? Has anyone one else shown that they had an issue related to it and solved it with a catch can?

If not, I'd say save your money.

Yes, Last weekend I was at the track with some friends. One of them had a catch can and he was emptying a few ounces of oil from the catch can after every session. I never really thought a catch can was necessary until I saw that.

I had a buddy who put one on and also catches some each session but never had a problem with the car. He just thought one day he would spend the 120 and put a can on. I am sure we would all catch something but does it really hurt anything? No fouled plugs / no smoke / heck maybe it is helping keeping something else a bit lubricated :-) (he was running stock LS6 with small cam)

Charley

I'm in bed and too lazy to go look up my paper work to see what brand I got, I think it was "Billet?"

Anyways, the reason I got this one is that it was small enough to fit with the FRC in place when mounted to the front of the block. The capacity is good for street and all tracks, except for a full session at ACS it fills up very close to the top (and possibly a little over filled)

On my C5 I had the Elite and the AMW. The Elite is much bigger. They all work the same in my opinion. Make sure the one you get mounts where and how you want it to.

I'm no longer racing but it works and it takes only a few minutes to empty it. My other Z got oil in the filter but with this car and the catch can I haven't noticed the filter getting oily.

i hav a custom built 416, so i have alot of crank case presure. I have delt with the PCV system so much...I was always scking oil into the intake. I tried breathers, and all sorts of routings. I ended up with a radiator overflow can from Canton...its massive, but really cuts down on the velocity of the oil vapors going through the system. bigger the better. Im sure anyone who races can take off their intake and see oil in it...which isnt good

Anyone used the RX can? The dual valve setup interests me, but it just sounds like a PCV valve - hard to justify the extra $ for one.
