Default Does anyone have some weights on c5 2 piece rotors?

I would consider some over the one piece (usually Brembo) blanks to save some weight (stock sliding calipers) but for the money I would like to know the weights first vs. one piece.

This is for autox primarily so the rotor life & temps are really secondary to the weight.

Thanks if you have any info.

Are they thinner & do you need to replace the stock pots with longer ones or thicker pads?

I can't answer your specific question on what fits your car (I selected my rotors out of the Wilwood catalog), but instead of thicker pads or different pistons I'd consider just putting some heat insulating shims behind the pads. Gets the pistons back where you want them (if needed) and also keeps the fluid a bit cooler.
Been doing that for years.

most of the C5 front 2 pc are ~2 lbs lighter, the real weights savings it on the rear if you got to a 2 pc without an E-brake drum, they are ~5 lb lighter than stock.

Where can I buy shims? Do they come in thicknesses?

2 lbs would be worth it, I don't know if I want to del the e brake, this car is on a slippery slope street to track.

I have Performance AFX rotors. The fronts are 2.5lbs. lighter each then Centric rotors. The rears with e-brake are 3.5 lighter each then Centric rotors. Total savings 12 lbs.

you can always put it back on. i never used my e-brake even when it was a street car

in addition to the rotor being 5 lb lighter, you can dump the 3 lb worth of e-brake hardware. 8 lb/side for free, is hard to ignore

Yours are 5lbs lighter because they have an 1/8" lip on both sides.

Our 2 piece front rotors for the C5 weigh just under 16lbs. The rears with parking brake weigh 10.12 pounds, without parking brake they are 9.75 pounds. They are all a direct bolt in replacement and are 100% made in the USA. Give us a call if interested or have any further questions.

That's what I was afraid of, not that they are a bad rotor, just heavier than stock. That's going the wrong direction for autox.

what does stock OEM weigh? I forgot I just know my Stoptechs were a pound heavier.

AX I would get a thinner than stock rotor in 2 pc to get the lightest.

that's probably a 14" stoptech. IIRC, when I was weighing the 14" stoptech stuff in my shop, the 14" 2 pc rotor was ~/- what the OEM C5 pieces were, about 18 lb or so

I've seen different material shims sold by a couple suppliers, but I've always just cut my own out of stainless steel using my plasma cutter. It's a lot cheaper, and I can get the thickness (or thicknesses) I want. Sorry I don't have more info than that.

Hard to ever compare or get a feel on rotor life by minutes on track and what track unless you know the driver. Rotor could last one person all season and someone else can kill same rotor in 25% of the time with more abuse. If I knew a person who runs similar times as me on a track then I would feel I would have some idea.
