Need a new clutch
Has any one tried the LS7 w/ aluminum flywheel?
Is it streetable?
Read up on some guy who ones a Caddy w/ one who drives it on the street at a new clutch co. testimonial page. Thought heavy cars were not able to drive on them, but he says it accelerates from part throttle like he gained 50 horses.
Read you couldn't even drive up on a trailer when running an aluminum fly wheel. I don't live in San Francisco, but it's hilly here in some spots, not to mention some drive ways.

I'm not certain what your application is, but if your intent is to use an aluminum flywheel with an LS7 clutch then I can report that the combination works very well in road race applications. Yes, you can drive it into a trailer (I do it all the time).
I have had great experience with it in my car that has 480 whp. I know there are "better" clutches out there, but IMO this is an effective and economical combination.
I don't recommend it for drag racing as I don't believe it is robust enough to handle multiple high rpm launches from high horsepower motors.

Daily driver w/ occasional trips to the drag strip and road coarse. 3015lbs+4130 6pt roll bar+ driver 220lbs.
I guess I'll stick with the billet steel I have then and just order a new pressure plate. Found one for $260+S&H and state tax.
If it was easy enough, I'd swap out fly wheels and clutches for every road coarse event this year. Maybe I could get fast enough to flat rate it. What's that, about 10 hrs?

Just read again, the guy I thought was running an Aluminum fly wheel, is actually a chromoly (4130) fly wheel! Any one running that? How would that hold up to occasional bracket racing.

I installed an LS-7 clutch kit, with the light-weight flywheel option, on my forged 402. I have had no problems on the street or track. Scoggins Dicky had the best deal when I bought mine.
