Default Going to Sebring 16-19th March, tips for "tourists"?

Hello fellow board members.

Myself, and a good friend got a week to spare, and ordered tickets over to the states, so we could look at the races at Sebring in March.

Obviously the race is very important, but what can we expect to see, and what would be "worth" to see the days before? Car corrals, testing?

Any pointers on where it would be convenient to stay? We are of course into the Vettes..

Any tips appreciated,

Brgds

There isn't a whole lot to do around Sebring. Last time I went, we stayed at http://www.kenilworthlodge.com/. Like Dakota Slim said, the people who camp in the infield is half of the show. There's some crazy stuff going on there.
Enjoy the race.

Hotels are pretty much not available at this point unless you get very lucky. Hotels are rare in Sebring so plan to stay about an hour away.

Bring a camera, sunscreen, a hat, a jacket, extra shoes. Plan on being wet, cold and hot. The weather is always crazy. Bring a cooler with drinks water beer etc. especially water and beer

Friday and Saturday are the days to be there.

Walk the track...lots of great places to view the races. The pit area is very open to spectators.

Be prepared to have fun

Hope to see you there.

Do they rent golf carts to get around, like at Road America or is that not needed?

Anyone know of motorhome rental places near Orlando so that someone flying in can stay at the track?

Thanks guys.
So do we need to buy tickets ahead, or just at the gate?

What city/area would then be "closest" with hotels? No special preferences with us.
