I'll be watching the comments on the paddle shifter. It'll be nice if it really is less likely to break than the sequential gear box.

I got the chance to see that car back in October. A buddy of mine works there and showed me the new paddle shift setup. Very cool stuff.

If an Econo Box like the 2012 Ford Focus can have a DCT why shouldn't the C7 Vette?

I can tell you from experience a true paddle shift is a lot faster.

When I bought my CTS-V a couple years back I test drove both and what I didn't like about the auto wasn't the tranny itself - it was the lack of involvement I felt while driving it. True that a paddle shift dual clutch tranny may be a better performer but it's just not as much fun to me.
FWIW, I've been day dreaming about getting a new 911 and lurking on some of the P-car boards. There was a good thread on this just the other day and Porsche does offer a very nice dual clutch gearbox.
