I am cutting out the bracing under my hood in order to lighten it. I also used some fiberglass to cover the holes where the headlights were.

In the C4 gen sticky topic about weights I posted several hoods, five IIRC.

Hi Andrew,
I have been watching this thread with interest, and greatly appreciate your link to the various weights of C4 hoods. I certainly do not wish to take Dan's thread off track, but do you recall if your weight of the 1988 pure stock hood "with everything" included the headlights and their motors? This could be of general interest here.
Thanks,
Ed LoPresti

Ed, with everything is with the lights, even the hood prop. I bought an inexpensive bathroom scale from Walmart to keep in the shop. I'm still working on lightening the car and will have an end weight for the hood with some of the bottom structure removed.
