Yes, if you have side pipes, stick out where the Z06 rear brake ducts are.
Corvette Race bodies has a C5World Challenge rear diffuser.
there are a few others too, but unless the back underside is completely closed off, they are just for show

Exhaust has to be up flush with the bottom of the car no matter if the exhaust is out the side or out the back. Diffuser is more than the back piece you see it really needs the whole bottom flat to exit the air fast. The shortest distance is a straight line as we all know. Fastest way for air to exit is a straight line. Faster the air exits the underside the lower the pressure under the car hence more down-force. Diffuser straightens the air but it is real tough with all the stuff under a stock Vette.
I'll have to check out the ACP unit I didn't know he made one.

i am aware of how it all needs to be routed. I dont want a piece hanging on the back bumper, thats useless.
I didnt know if the gas tank needed to be moved for side exhaust?

I have seen that picture before but I would like to see how the rest of the bottom of the car is.

This is precisely correct. If a diffuser actually works, the low pressure zone generated by it is actually just IN FRONT of it and to a much smaller extent in the entrance of the diffuser. One needs to insure that the area directly forward of the diffuser entrance is perfectly smooth, flat, and seamless so the air flow properly feeds the diffuser entrance. Any diffuser with "crap" in front of it is likely not doing much if any good.

I don't think I am letting out any secrets here.
It is smooth in front of section of diffuser in photo.
Aaron and Josh did a lot of research before building diffuser. It was also a lot of work.
Note: because rear of car is almost completely enclosed a trans and diff cooler is imperative.
Also
You better have long ramps for your trailer.

Did they plate the car up to the front door area?
John,
It has been awhile since I looked at the underside of Aaron"s car (I am usually just looking at taillights) but to the best of my knowledge the smooth underside runs fairly close to rear of front door.
I think Race Car Engineering had an article about 6 months ago that talked about diffusers in detail and specifically dealt with optimal angles as Tom mentioned in his post.
