Default FS: Hybrid Pro Head and Neck Restraint

I have a new in-the-box Hybrid Pro Rage Head and Neck Restraint for sale. I purchased it new several months ago and never ended up using it. It is x-large with the sliding tethers. It is fully adjustable and can be modified by Safety Solutions, if necessary, for a custom fit.

Pics will be e-mailed upon request. (Or maybe someone can tell me how to post pics here.)

Retail price is $995.95 from Summit Racing or Safety Solutions directly.

*** PRICED REDUCED! ***
Will sell for $550 shipped! Will be sold new in the box with installation manual and all other materials.

Here is the information from Summit's website:

These Safety Solutions Hutchens Hybrid Pro restraints are modifications of the NASCAR-approved Hybrid restraints. They are engineered to protect the head in side-to-side vibrations, as well as to protect the head and neck in frontal and angular impacts that occur in drag racing. The Hybrids' patented technology is a unique adaptation of R3 technology with increased shoulder belt interaction and a shorter back. These Safety Solutions Hutchens Hybrid Pro restraints use a combination of the R3 chest strap and a set of angular front buckle straps that hook into the top of the seat belt buckle system. These restraints include an SSG (Side Stabilizing Gusset) load path for unbeatable angular protection and a patented seat belt anchoring system (SAS) for incredible security--the harness controls your motion. This arrangement produces comfortable and stable restraints that excel in angular and multiple-impact situations. Safety Solutions Hutchens Hybrid Pro restraints use multiple load paths to redirect the head loads and a combination of carbon fiber and straps to make the most secure devices ever. These Hybrid Pro restraints are the most popular head and neck restraints in the NHRA Nitro Funny car pits and are also being used in Sprint Cars, monster trucks, and off-road vehicles.

Here is the information from Safety Solution's website:

Hybrid Pro - the latest in the Hybrid generation. At under 7 inches it is the smallest device ever made! Developed through extensive testing combining the patented Seatbelt Anchor System and the patent pending Side Stabilizing Gusset we have been able to minimize the size giving you the first device that needs no seat modification and that seat angle doesn't effect.

By utilizing our successful Track Proven Design, this device is designed for the toughest multiple impacts and unbeatable performance. From the short tracks of America to the toughest of desert races this device has quickly become THE choice among professionals.

• Minimalistic Design - Same Great Protection
• New SSG (Side Stabilizing Gusset) Load Path for unbeatable Angular Protection
• Patented Seatbelt Anchoring System (SAS) for incredible security - the harness controls your motion.
• Device is designed to work with you, not against you!

I have one of these myself, they rock. I had the unfortunate opportunity to test mine out, and not so much as a stiff neck after.

Glad to hear it saved your neck. The great thing about the Hybrid Pro is that is also supports your neck laterally (side-to-side impact) which a Hans device does not do.

If you don't mind me asking, how bad was it?

Safety Solutions can modify them to fit custom measurements. They are very friendly and easy to work with. Their # is 800-731-4404. Call them and tell them you can get a great deal on an XL Hybrid Pro Rage and need it to fit XXX measurements. See what they say.

Also, keep in mind that these devices have lots of adjustment in them as well.

Default How to attach to helment

Will be just starting to do a lot of HPDE's in 2011 with a move to NASA TTA hopefully late in the year. How does this attach to the helment. I have a helmnet I bought last year but it does not appear to have any attachement points on it.

Since I have a 47" chest this seems to be the right size.

Wow - Great Deal!!!!

I paid more for my R3 Rage than that!!!

One of the really good things about these is that they can be used with a stock 3-point seat belt, as well as a harness.

The HANS requires a harness, but if you're an instructor who rides in a lot of different student's cars, this unit can give you great head-n-neck support when you're sitting over there in the right seat with only a stock belt.

Good luck on the sale - somebody will get a great deal!!

BTW, I think it hooks to your helmet using the same posts/d-rings that a HANS uses. Any race shop should be able to install them on most any helmet.
