Default Seat grommets

I have a 92 with the sport seats and would like to put grommets in it for my harness. Has anyone done this in this style of seat and if so , how did it come out. Also does anyone make brakets that mount on the seat shell for a harness. Don't know how strong that would be though.

Grommets here:

Brackets for the seat shell - no, no way, no how.

If I understand you correctly.
Mounting to the shell would be extremely dangerous.

Plus it won't pass tech, you need a harness bar.

I've also seen cars with the belts over the seats and mounted on the rear deck, I won't pass those either at tech inspection.

I guess I worded it wrong. I have a harness bar, just talking about some guides on the sides of the shell.

The grommets can be purchased from HMS Motorsports. Not sure how they will work with the C4 seat back. How are planning on routing the sub belt. If you are going to route it over the front of the seat bottom you would be better off not using it all. The sub belt is used to pull the lap belt down onto your pelvis. Mounting it over the front of the seat bottom will pull it away from your pelvis. Only way to mount is under the seat with a hole in seat bottom or where you can sit on the sub belt (6 pt) with the belt run through between the seat bottom and seat back.

Actually I take the bottom seat cushion off and put down a small pad so my helmet clears. There is a hole underneath for the subbelt, works perfect. I need the gromets because the shoulder harness moves just sitting on the outside.

Glad you have a harness bar, the first post scared me.

You could also pore a 2 part foam seat bottom, it would give you a bit of side support.

When you get it all done, pop over the hill and run with us. There's some other guys in your area that come over.
