From Pirelli's brochure, it sounds like they're targeted squarely at the Michelin Pilot Sport Cup, which I guess would also suggest they compete with the Toyo R888. I currently have the NT-05's on my street wheels, but I've never taken them to the road course as I don't think they're really up to the level of track abuse I like.
I'm hoping these Trofeo will be the "real deal" with a street capable tire that can last on the track, although the price is up there...

Pirelli sent us the first set of Trofeo's to test at PBIR on one of our C6 Corvettes, and today under 60 degrees cool weather we hit the track.
They came to temperature within a lap and the grip was very good for a street tire. They made a bit of noise under aggresive driving, but had a very predictable slide and most importantly they didn't fall off.
After 10 good aggresive laps we came in and the tires didn't look like they had been used at all. Edges were still nice and straight and no cupping was visible.
I can't compare them to the Michelin's as I have never driven on them, but can say that I was very impressed with the tire overall.

Thanks for the review, any lap times compared to other tires you've run on that car? I'm curious to see how they stack up, the previous corsa tire by pirelli had a good reputation and some great lap times posted by other forum members. Being a 60 tread wear I'm hoping they are closer to a hoosier R6 (40) than the pilot cups (100). (kind of looking for the best option for a track tire that can be driven to the track.)
