EBC Yellow Stuff DM1793

I have run them; I thought they worked very well on the street and no problems on the track. No noise, no dust, easy on rotors.

It is hard to find a pad that will give you both. If you want an aggressive pad that will handle the heat ranges for HPDE then you will get noise and dust. If you use a more friendly pad, it won't last long at the track and will not work as well. Go with two seperate sets, road and track rotors/pads.

You get what you pay for. I've tried many pads and even some development compounds made by EBC. If you are an advanced driver and tend to brake hard, they will not last on our heavy cars. They make a great street pad in green, yellow or blue, but don't expect the same results as a dedicated track pad unless you are just starting out in HPDE.

With EBC I did not have good experience on the track if you want to run fast times.
At original dimensions I have the best experience with Carbotech DBA5000 and made blue or red.
The only drawback makes whistle, but very snappy!

It wasn't clear to me from reading the replies of the 3 posters who were negative on the EBC pads; did you guys actually use the Yellowstuff DM1793 compound(not the earlier version) or the Bluestuff compound?

A client of mine had a brake on the north loop breakdown.
The EBC have been recommended to him in yellow, so he built it.
10 Days later, I had him replace the pads again by Carbotech.
Now he is happy again

Yes. I bought the old compound and complained to Andy. He was kind enough to provide the new yellow compound. It was slightly better, but still faded. He then had me try another nonproduction black or blue (I forgot) that was again slightly better but not up to PFC 01, Hawk DTC 70, Carbotech XP12 or Cobalt XR1. My point is not to bash EBC. They make great street pads and I used them on my C6 for nontrack days. They are quiet and if they dust up the wheels, they are easy to clean. Just don't expect the same results as race pads that cost a lot more.
All of this depends on how you use your brakes. You may find them perfect for the way you drive. I will be the first to admit that I drive and brake hard. To give you an idea of how I drive, I would crack a set of NAPA rotors in one day of HPDE at Watkins Glen. DBA 4000 would last me two weekends and never totally crack. I need to drive hard to keep up with my Porsche GT3s buddies that have WAY better brakes than a stock C6.
