Default 5/6 point harness

What 5/6 point harness are you using?

Why do you like what you have or wish you had something else.

Looking to buy a couple of sets and can see huge price differences from low end to high end professional units. Trying to learn why one is better than another.

I have the G-Force 5 pt with 3" straps with camlock. They are approved until 2012 so I guess that means they were good enough to start with. Bought mine used, but one set was brand new. There are frequently used sets for sale.

6 point G-force w/cam lock and pull down straps. Most prefer pull-up, but this is my second set w/pull down and I like them - seem I can get a little better leverage pulling down. I went with the B-K lap belt hardware, but I'm still getting used to the 6 point - keeps things pretty cozy

6pt Schroth Profi II-6

Somewhat expensive, but worth it. Comfortable and flexible mounting for lots of different configurations.

I'm an ex-dirt racer so I use the Simpson 6 point latch & link. I'm familiar with it, it's affordable, and I can call them and someone that speaks southern answers the phone

I've taken a small hit in a 5pt. I now use a 6pt. Cam-locks are easier to buckle, latch-link is just as easy to unbuckle.

The Simpson showroom is about a mile from my house... I always feel at home when I walk in the door, LOL. Their damn banker's hours drive me nuts though!!!

If you're using a Hans look for Hans compatible harnesses. Take a look at what Willans has to offer. I was using the Schroth Profi II 6 point and in my ex T-1 car it had the Willans. Much easier to buckle up and aircraft quality pieces. It was very comfortable as well. Willans will be my next harness. Can't put a cost on saftey in my mind.

Good luck!
