Best brake pad after Hawk plus pads..
I have put alot of time on the track with the hp plus pads and I want to step up to the next level. Would the XR2's or DT-60, DT-70 be good options. If so do you split the front and rears with different pads or can you run the same on both...?
Thanks..
Thanks..

I run Hawk DTC70 front and DTC60 rear. They have done well for me.
On stock calipers I was going through a set in 1 or 2 weekends.
Put on StopTech big brakes and the pads haven't worn down near as much.
You don't want to run these on the street as they take some heat to start gripping. Haven't had any problems with brake fade on the track. I also use Motul fluid.

If you want to continue using the pads on the street the next step up would be the Cobalt CSR pads. Cobalt doesn't recommend them for continual street driving but they do say they are OK for the trip to the track or autcross event.

I have the following Hawk brake pads for sale:
Note: These are for the C5 or C6 base or C6 Z51 brake calipers...NOT C6Z06
DTC70 F & R Brand New - $450 total
HP+ F & R basically New (used 1 autocross weekend) $180
HPS Front pads Brand New - $80
HPS F & R basically New (used 1 autocross weekend) $130
HT10 F & R Used with 80% Life Left $160
Also, all of the prices I have been listing do NOT include shipping charges. I'm sure you realize that, but I thought I would mention it anyway.
Let me know if you are interested.

I just changed from HP plus to Carbotech this past week and had my first track day with them. Night and day the Carbotechs are awesome. Call Adam from Carbotech on the forum. He took care of me selecting the correct pads and delivered really fast. I'm very happy

I've been running DTC-70's/60's as mentioned in another post. Been running this set up for a long time. work great, predictable, and last pretty long.

Back on topic, I've been running PFC Z rated pads for autocross. They're about gone, and they're essentially not available locally. I've got a set of HP+ ready to go, but was curious what others were recommending for autocross. I want something that's got good cold bite and a reasonable heat range, so the killer pads that are great on the track may not work so well for me.
Have a good one,
Mike

A high torque brake compound with a wide operating temperature range (200°F-1350°F+). Carbotech XP8™ is the first of our racing compounds. Outstanding initial bite at race temperatures, high coefficient of friction, excellent modulation and release characteristics. Extremely high fade resistance, very rotor friendly with 100% non-corrosive dust. Excellent as a front brake pad for lighter ITA, ITB, ITC, SRF, H4, H5, and other cars that weigh less than 2,400lbs. Perfect for novice, intermediate and advanced track day (HPDE) use with any tire, and can still be driven safely to and from the track. There are several vehicles that use XP8™ on the street, autocross, and at track day (HPDE) events. Carbotech does NOT recommended XP8™ as a daily driven street pad due to elevated levels of dust and noise. XP8™ is also a great rear brake pad for almost any race car (Spec Miata-T1/T2/CMC). XP8™ is a great compound on the front & rear of most open wheel and sports racers.

I like the Wilwood H compound for the same reasons. It also doesn't hurt the paint and I can get it off the wheels even after rain on the way home. I got 7 days (3+ events) out of my first set of fronts and they are still not gone yet--have over 1/8" minimum (tapered). They seem like a very cost effective pad.
