I need a vented hood
Where is the best place to buy a vented hood? Anyone have one they want to get rid of?
Fiberglass would be fine. No need for CF, I just want to remove some heat and maybe add a little downforce. The WC style hood is the only one I have seen that I like, but $1600 for fiberglass seems a little steep.

Here's a picture of the louvers I installed on my regular hood:

Fit and finish of the hood were excellent and my body guys were really impressed at how little prep work it needed (that's for the carbon piece).

I'm with Jody, lots of options for modifying a stock hood for under $100. Mine are from JC Whitney.
I've also used ACP's stuff, and back in my hardcore racing days, the finish was not very good. However, that was before they started doing a lot of street cars, and I'm sure they improved a lot. Don't get me wrong, their CF was always strong and light, just was a bit rough around the edges. I've heard they are much cleaner now.

If you are thinking of changing the hood on a street car that you use for the track as well, there is no way I would "cut" louvers into the hood. It will look like sh*t! If your car is a race car or dedicated track car then cutting holes in the hood is OK. I remember Aaron Pfadt's car was running hot at the NASA nationals.....he took a jigsaw and cut 2 big holes in the hood to cool it off.
Call ACP....do it right.

You could always buy some louvers and do it yourself, that's what we did with our TTS/ST2 car.

my whole race car is ACP CF panels. ACP is a business that at any given time is really busy or its not. I've called Kerry and ordered parts that were in stock and went out that afternoon...and I've had to wait because they had to fabricate the part. Every part I have purchased has fit well.

It has been engineered and wind tunnel tested. You don't want the holes too far back...
