Default TCS/AH problems w/ 18" 305/335 RA1's.

Hey folks,

edit: err not TPMS.. i had TPMS on the brain from another of my cars having problems. i meant TCS... lol.

I mounted a set of 18x11/18x13 CCW's with 305/335 RA1's on my 2006 C6 Z06 a few days ago. If I drive it with all the active handling/tcs crap turned on, after a few minutes i'll get the DIC showing something about the active handling is 'active' and i can feel it dragging the brakes.

If I hit the TCS button to turn everything off, it feels like it drives normal on the street but I'm afraid if I take it to the track it still might be dragging brakes and I don't want to waste a set of pads/rotors.

I wasn't planning to drive it at the track with any of the active handling or tcs systems enabled, so I don't mind having to hit the button every time I get in, but was wondering if this was normal/expected?

What aspect ratios?

305/35r18 ~= 26.4in tall
335/30r18 ~= 25.9in tall

Your rear tires are shorter than your front tires and that's messing with the system...

Yupe, that's the dimensions of the RA1's. I thought I had heard of a few different people running the same setup without issues and that's why I selected them.

Is there anything I can do to recalibrate the system to work with these dimensions?

Not that I know of on both counts. Just turn it off.

I run 275/35r18+305/35r18 to keep the system happy. In the past I've also run 295/30r18+305/35r18 and it's been happy. I do that because I drive the R888s on the street, too, and sometimes the wife will grab the Corvette...

Common tire size.

Turn the nannies off. With tires that wide, if you need the nannies, there are other problems in your driving style you need to worry about.

new Track First Sessions, Competitive mode. learn the new track with a little help in case you go too hot into a corner.

Once you are comfortable, i agree you need to turn the ****e off.

If it is a wet track, I put competitive mode back on.

You are silly to run with full ACH \ Traction on in street mode for a track. Ever, unless you are completely new in a green group with ZERO track time experience.
