cost to rent a track
I am sure thus varies by track but approximately what is the price to rent a track and then additional expenses like insurance.
Just wondering. Heard WGI is $8k per day and NJMP is $10k but not sure if that is total expense or just the rental.

It will vary greatly depending on the venue and day of the week. Weekends being much more expensive and usually spoken for years in advance. Track rental is the first expense, insurance, corner workers, EMT and ambulance, fire workers and truck are all additional expenses that need to be figured in to the equation. Costs can run from $7000 on the low side to $20,000 or more per day. Most of the tracks have sales contact information on their websites, best to contact them directly.

Road America is around $35,000 for a weekend.

In the Southeast there's a local track in Birmingham, Alabama that rents for $1500-2000 a day. It's nothing fancy, just a fun place to drive. It's Talladega Grand Prix Raceway. And there's a similar place outside New Orleans. Are there places like those in other parts of the country to have cheap fun?

ECS, Here's a tip...if you can get in with track management, or perhaps some sort of deal that would guarantee them publicity, it is possible to get a track for free or at least at a discount.
We (former co.) used to get Nashville Superspeedway & Road Course for free once a month because it was for national TV. (Also had Daytona, Darlington, and Bristol)
Check their schedule before you contact the track office and know which day you want to go. How many cars? How many crew will you need/bring? Garage space? First Aid? Insurance? Do you need any on-site facilities? (bathrooms, showers, etc.)
The less you require of the track, its' facilities and staff, the better.
Alternately, you could try to set up something with one of the HPDE coordinators in your area. If a certain coordinator or club is a regular at your chosen track, it's likely their organization gets a discount.
With the ECS name behind you, I'm sure they'd jump to be of as much help as possible.
If it's a NASCAR facility you seek, I may be able to help with some contact names. Feel free to PM.

You might want to call the new track on the NC/VA border.....NCCAR It's just getting started, and still has a LOT of availability I'm told. I hope to get back there this fall.

Bob, I didnt think you were serious when you said you would rent me the track for the day on my birthday, your alright man..
(btw, if it's cheaper to rent it the day before, or after, thats fine with me. You can spend the 10k saved on steaks afterwards)

WGI is $8K per day but you have a two day minimum charge. That gets you all of the required services. Flaggers, wreckers, and ambulance. Additional charges are levied if you want food services (people using the food service still have to pay for the food), open NASCAR pyramid, etc.
