Default Rain tire & wheels question...

I have a choice of 9.5" or 10.5" wheels, all four corners the same. Looking to put full wets on a set of these wheels. I was considering putting 245's on the 9.5's with the idea that I would get less aquaplaning and perhaps better bite when it is really wet out.

Is narrow better than wider for wets?

What do you racer guys do when it is really soggy? I am only doing the instructing thing, and really enjoy running in the wet...almost a private track, just me and the Miata's.

Watkins Glen is where they will see the most action, all suggestions are welcome.

I would run the skinniest tires I had rims for. Fewer square inches to lift the car up on top of the water, and cheaper.

Kumho W710 275 wets on 17 X 9.5 wheels work pretty well for me.

I have some sumitomos on my stock rims, stock sizes too. I use them as my 'rain' tire.

Default nope

I lover driving in the rain and I have a set of goodyear intermediate wets size 25.5 x 11.5 x 18. There is no comparison between these tires and any type of street tire. I have run in the 1:40's at road atlanta with deep standing water on these tires, and pulled over 1.2g on traqmate. If you are really serious about hauling a@@ in the rain, get something similar. These tires are about the same size as 315's.

Doh! These are all the same voices that are in my head. Toss up between Inters and full wets. Given experience at the Glen, it usually is very wet or dry.
