Prior to now I think that class used to run actual unibody camaros. At I'd bet they realized the stock car chassis are way less expensive to build and maintain. Plus easy to work on and probably faster.

Default Can add some additional info and a link..

The Swedish Camaro Cup seems to be a real success with 26 identical gen. 5 tube chassis + 12 gen.4 bodies= 38 cars!
The very strict regulations gives real close door to door racing.

Racing with Camaro's in a cup has occured off and on in different shapes in Sweden since 1975.
The engines are environmental friendly, equipped with Holley carb and
E85 fuel etc.
Most parts was used on previous season Gen.4 Camaro, now transferred to ease and make the transition/upgrade to new chassi a little bit more affordable, at least for now.

The official website (prepared for the english speakers).

Do I need to mention that they will be the coolest racing series this year in sweden, and as it seems already to be more popular with more expectations than Porsche Carrera Cup (27 x 911 GT3)..??

Correct in all.
They where a just couple of sec slower than the well tuned GT 3 Porsche cup cars, this during first runs/shake downs and running basically on the settings the cars was delivered with.

The drivers love's them, a real racing car they said. I belive them..

A body built by HOWE RACING. A second version for the U.S.
market is reportedly coming.

ARP already markets a 2010 Camaro stock car body for short track
racers that looks pretty good. Has a slight right side offset.

Yeah I've seen the ARP body, but the Howe body in the pics looks way better and more like a Camaro.
