My first shakedown before GT racing
All went well, sunny but cold (31F in morning and 39F afternoon)
started out on brand new Micheling slicks. what a scary experience, it was almost impossible to get heat into the slicks.
We started out with 24 psi cold (and it was cold outside )
After 10-12 laps i pulled in and we measured
Michelin 30/65/18 S8C Front and 31/71/18 S9C rear.
Front left 30.2 psi and tiretemp outside 118F center 122F inner 125F
Rear left 25.2 psi and outside temp 106F, center 111F, inner 113F
Front right 27.4 psi and outside temp 99F, center 109F, inner 125F
Rear right 25 psi and outside temp 97F, center 111F, inner 113F
Then switched to Hoosier , temp outside was now closer to 40 F.
Hoosier 305/645/18 R80 front and 315/690/18 R100 rear, started all at 22 psi cold, drove aprox 10 laps
Front left 30.4 psi and tiretemp outside 145F center 149F inner 149F
Rear left 28.4 psi and outside temp 143F, center 142F, inner 149F
Front right 28.3 psi and outside temp 136F, center 122F, inner 122F
Rear right 28,4 psi and outside temp 143F, center 133F, inner 122F
Pfadt street sway bar, set at mid position front and second hole furthest out on rear.
3 way Penske dual spring from Hardbar, dont know the settings :o but will check later today
Car felt soft and understeered a little
Anyone with good knowledge that can steer me in the right direction so we can compete with Pcars and DTM cars.
BTW it is crazy class, i just found out that true Opel DTM car from 2000 is in my class, also a few Gran AM cars, among them US national winner. 2300 lb car against a 3000 lb Z06, its going to be
So we need to get car as good as possible
regards

Your sway bars might be a bit softer than you should be running, I have not ran mine with the Pfadt streets yet, NTO5 tires as this will only be an HPDE car and maybe some TT later on 888's once I finish the roll bar design.
I probably would of gone with the Pfadt race bars(I had a set on my race car but parted it out to build a Pro Tour car out of the C5 chassis instead) so never ran them.
That has little to do with tire temps but might help when it starts warming up there, for cold weather the softer settings on the street bars might be better, speculation on my part, any slick drivers want to share??
I wonder if the Hoosier A6 might even be better for the cold?? I would look into a compound that can deal with cool track temps.
