Default 2010 Cannonball Run: One Lap of America

Haven't heard any talk on it yet this year. It looks like Ron Adee is running it again in a 09 Vette...wonder how much 09 is left...

Anyone else have any info about this years running or any of the cars entered? I can't wait to register for next years race.

OK might as well make the announcement.

Myself and the one and only Danny Popp are running my car in the One Lap. Getting things finalized as we speak. Should be a contender. If anyone is interested in supporting us, please call me at 513-739-4101. I will be fronting all of the cost and plan to contribute any excess money raised to the LIVE STRONG organization. Putting in $1K towards the cause myself.

Keep everyone posted on our progress.

Thanks !!

About 68 cars is a respectable field considering the economic climate.

Looks like about six or seven real contenders in the top ten.
William, Steve and Jon in the GT-R that won last year.
Ron always brings a tank to a knife fight and sans bad luck he is in the hunt.
Leh and Doug in a GT2, if Leh keeps tires on it will be on the podium.
Danny ... a crowd favorite for many on this forum, has to be in the running with a C6!
The f430 on paper is capable of a top five finish.
Catesby in the other GT-R a veteran of OLOA has a good shot of a top five finish.
The GT 3 RS also is a potent vehicle.

Now reality is at least one of he above will fall out of contention with a mechanical failure. One will have an off and DNF or finish so poorly they fall out. Someone else will come up short due to any number of crazy things that can happen, penalty for oversleeping at the hotel, encounter on the street with boar, deer or alligator, bad tank of fuel or other bizarre issue. Weather may give the GT-R's an edge.

Odds are 3 to 1 at least one team sights a tornado en route to Mid America or leaving that tornado magnet!

Regardless of who wins, good luck to all! Be safe and enjoy one of the best but toughest events around.

Be safe and have fun everyone. I almost pulled off a ride for this year but once again it didn't work out. It was a 427 C5 Mallett car with 600 at the rears and a full cage, coil overs,BBK and more. I think it would have done well, not sure if I would have had enough for Popp though.

My last run was 2002 and that is entirely too long to be away.

Will try again next year!

For picking winners, turbo awd vehicles tend to do well in this event.

I hope it is dry at each venue so the awd cars don't have even more of an advantage.

Good luck Danny and the rest of the One Lappers! Anyone in the race or going to watch it would be awesome if you could try to take some pictures or videos. Can't wait to see how the Vettes do this year!!
