Effects of Toe Out Front on C5 Z06 - Mainly Street Driving
Hey all-
Trying to dial down my alignment settings for tomorrow.
I am trying to decide between 1/16" total out toe or zero toe or a minute (RCH) amount of toe in in the front.
Thinking 6.9+ caster or ideally the coupe settting of 7.4 unless that would cause problems.
With -1.5 total camber in the front
-1.0 camber in the rear and 1/32" toe in or 1/16" toe in in the rear.
Thanks!
Andrew

I think hes talking about toe out in the front.
I'd run a SLIGHT bit of toe IN (yes, IN, not out). The bushings in the car deflect just a bit, and if you run zero toe, it'll move to toe out dynamically. The trouble is that any bit of toe out, static or dynamic, will result in the inner shoulder of the tire wearing fast and leaving the rest of the tire with a good bit of tread.

I suggest sticking to OEM toe for a street car, 1/32" or 0.1 deg toe out. Toe in hurts handling and excessive toe out will cause excessive wear on the street.

Yeah, I have had this go on in my Z over the summer.
between the 2degrees of neg camber and the 1/16 tor out, there's been good wear on the inside of the tire up there. And that's over 10K miles of street driving since last year and a ton of autocrosses.
zero toe will be best IMO if you do mostly street driving, but in the end, it's your tires and money

Toe can do more than you think. ALways toe out in the front, and toe in for the rear on these cars.
1/16-1/4 in the front is the window ( depending on mods, tracks, use, etc)
1/8-5/16 IN for the rear, again, YMMV, and its up to you to test. Ive run more, and less than that
If the tire is wearing uneven, you need to look at camber as long as toe is in that window.
Caster mentioned is fine, just make sure its even side to side.
