These measurements were taken off very slightly used scrubs; I tried to be careful not measuring an area with rubber build up so take that for what it is worth:

The Yokohama Advan slick in a 280/680-18 measures 6/32 nd's from the surface to the bottom of the wear dot. By the way, I just ran these yesterday at Laguna Seca and they are very progressive with an excellent feel, very good traction because of the tall section width. They wear like iron, if the 24 hours of LeMans ever implemented a no tire change rule, these would be on the winning car. Slower than Dunlops and Hoosier R100's. Low pressure, 28 psi hot.

The Hoosier R100's in a 305/650-18's measure 5/32 nd's to the bottom of the wear groove.

Were these the Yokahoma A005 slicks and, if so, do you know which of the 4 hardness compounds you were running, i.e. N2281, N2361, N2362 or N2092 ?

you can't gauge slicks' remaining life by tread depth, as "normally" you run out of heat cycles before you run out of tread. and you can't just take the history of the tire (if even known accurately) since it's not just heat cycles but also overall (calendar) life of the tire.

you need to measure the hardness with a durometer, but to make sense of it you need to know the hardness when new and the hardness when they are junk. this is also complicated by the fact that taking durometer measurements is not a hard and fast science.

scrubs are worth very little in general, and you should pay accordingly!

I think it was 3/32 to the cords but you may be right also Tom. It is on the hoosier web site some where. I do know one thing for sure it isn't much!

I could not find it. It may be on GY site or have dissappeared.

Yes they were the new A005G compound O2861, otherwise known as the ENV-R1.
