Default Stuck in Wichita Falls Texas

Well, here I am in Wichita Falls Texas for work. I’m stuck here until March 4, so what is there to do and see? I see lots of Coyotes but not 1 Corvette-so far
So far I'v visited Archer City, 10th Calvary Creek, Punkin TX and I found the Red River Speedway, but there is nothing happening until mid March.

Any forum/SCCA/NCRS members live around here? Drop me a PM

Thanks-Larry

Not sure what you're lookin for, but I would Google Corvette clubs or whatever in your area. For TRACK events, there is Eagle Canyon in Decatur, and MSR Cresson just south of DFW, and Texas Motor Speedway for NASCAR and club events near the DFW airport.

I think they're holding Viper days at MSR Cresson next weekend - if you want to watch some Vipers racing.

I bought my 2002 ZO6 in Dallas when I was in school there for 45 days back in Aug/Sep 2001.

Hallet OK may be closest road course. It was pretty slow - I researched and wrote my Air War College paper while I was there...

You could always stop in and visit at LGM in Wylie, TX. Not too far north east of Dallas.

http://www.motorsportranch.com/

There are a few races coming up in the next few weeks, and thats probably the closest track. Even if there isnt an event, you can always go watch the members race if you want to do that. If you were staying a little longer there is a NASA race there march 13-14th too.

And you are probably only an hour and a half from college station if you wanted to go check out Texas World Speedway. Probably something goin on out there too.

I'm in Granbury and go to TWS regularly, so I would estimate he is at least 3 hours from TWS....JMHO.

Probably 4 hours from Wichita Falls.
You could head over to LG Motorsports. Probably 1-1/2 hours from Wichita Falls to Wylie.

There are some Corvette shops in DFW - Corvettes of Dallas, etc. - if you want to go check out some cars.

If you want to do a 10 lap NASCAR driving experience at Texas Motor Speedway go to www.teamtexas.com They have some openings on March 6 and 7. I did this a while back and enjoyed it. Much like a DE. They put you in car with an instructor - not lead/follow another car. If the instructor thinks you can handle it they let you run all out. 10 laps goes real fast though.

Thanks for the ideas guys, it looks like the only road sport here is to run over pole cats (skunks)Dead polies are all over the place. So far I have had to dodge, 4 deeer, 2 pole cats, 1 cow and a coyote that wanted to chase me to the car...I won!

I'll be in Dallas next Thursday and plan to visit LG Motorsports before I fly out on Friday morning.

This Saturday I'll be up before dawn to photograph a Texas sunrise over the bad lands

There is not a hooters here that I have seen...not much of any eye candy...no Vettes and no pretty girls

I'v been busy with work so this last week has gone by fast I have seen alot of cool vehicals rusting away in the fields..some nice resto- projects to dream of
