New LGM EMCO Sequential Video at 1/4 mile-stock engine 10.86 - 127
Hi Guys,
Here is the latest video taken at the Drag Strip in 91 degree Texas heat.
It shows the EMCO Transmission in action. Pretty impressive Gear box.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jUSPwmN9MWE
It might be still uploading to HD but it looks prett good.
Enjoy.
MODS:
Stock untouched Z06 Engine.
LG Super Pro 1 7/8" headers
LG Carbon Fiber Air intake
Carbon Fiber LG Air Scoop
RPS Twin Lite cluth
EMCO Sequential gear box
Stock Diff.
Weather was HOT and humid at 91 degrees for the best run. Started at 94 degrees.
Still, plenty of fun but it doesn't take long enough. Road racing is drag racing with corners in the way to make you mad.
Thanks
Enjoy

Marvelous shifting of that transmission and some very quick, fast times. It seemed that you were getting a major bog off the line every launch with almost no wheel spin. Was this caused by the clutch. tire combo - or what ?? Seems that a couple of extra 10ths would be there with a better launch with no bog.

The gearing (diff) could have been a little shorter. It was just a stock diff in a stock car but we wanted to test the transmission.
It had a light flywheel in also.
Yes there is probably a couple of tenths in a better launch. (or more horsepower)
The drag race was just a demo, but this Transmission is a pure road racing gear box. We plan to take it to the road course to test it out there too.
Thanks

The internals of this gear box are the same as the GT2 car. Only the GT2 car is a complete Trans Axle with the diff included.
This one is just a direct replacement for the Corvette transmission and it uses the stock Corvette diff.
But the gears, dogs, shafts, oil pump are all the same as the GT2 car.

Oh yeah, that is very cool. You can't help to downshift, eh Lou? Were you apexing the turn off and return road?
That new Camaro put up a good time. Do you know if it had any mods?

Yeah, I wanted to apex the next turn and hit it again!
the camaro had something and just a couple of mods. Really good for a heavy car.
The Camaro is in our shop and we are building a set of headers for him(and to send off to build)
Thanks

Wow, Lou, that is just way . 7,000 rpm launch, drops to what looked like about 2,000. I think you need a little more wheelspin, maybe try some less sticky tires!
How much of a pull does it take to shift gears? Looks like you pulled the slack out, then only moved the shifter an inch or less for the actual shift.
Fantastic video, background music wasn't bad either. Kudos to your video master!
Have a good one,
Mike

Hi
since we don't have a sensor on the shifter like our Race car, I was shifting ON the rev limiter. I didn't want to hit the rev limiter and not have pressure on the shifter, so I pulled the slack out and let it ride on the dog ring.
That way, as soon as the engine burped, the dog ring could slip into the next gear.
I was probably over compensating because the shifts were so close together.
Thanks
Lou G
