Autobahn Grand Prix Comments and Pictures !!!
It was fantastic seeing all the pros compete at my home track. Those that have been to Autobahn Country Club know it's a technical track and horsepower only gets you so far. With 20 turns on a 3.56 mile full track, there was plenty for these guys to learn.
The Atlantic open wheel cars were running 2:05's. The WC cars were running 2:27s. To give you an idea, my unrestricted Beast runs low 220s, so these guys were really flying.
Okay, enough blabber, enjoy the pics!
WC winners Pobst, Davis and Kubinski.
Brian Kubinski did a fabulous job holding off Andy Pilgrim for the last 5 laps.
Anybody need a spare motor?
Phoenix's Suburu!
Mancuso's Aston
Great pit transport!
Just a few daily drivers!
Only one made it to the race as an engine blew during practice.

TRG was present with their Mclaren SLR street car!
To complete the bookends, here's the SLR race version. It was this car's first race so there's still some sorting out to do. This car costs well over 7 figures. It's exhaust was so deep and guttural, I've never heard anything like it before, truly awesome.

Awesome pics Mike! Just out of curiosity, what kind of times did the 007 Daytona Prototype run (i.e what class was it in, and how did it do)? Or was it on display only?
Thanks for posting!

Tell me what investment on even a smaller scale is a good return! But I hear what you're saying.
Remember it was the first race it ever ran so hopefully it will finish next time.
Here are some more pics of the SLR.
The SLR crew were all great people and very accommodating having me inspect the car from any angle while they worked on it.

The DP was just on display. Wanna bring out the Mosler for a little mono-e-mono?

Mr. Farmer-
The TRG Benz is tied to Circle B Motorcars of Texas and owner Peter Blom.
One of the reasons behind the endeavor is that TRG has gotten into the SLR parts and prep business. Buckler is hoping to entice SLR owners to use TRG to prep cars to participate in various types of events like WCGT, HPDE, track days...whatever the car owner wants to spend money on.

good to know the SLR crowd has their own tuner shop now.......obviously TRG is crewing the car, but interesting they are hoping to expand that market.
No offense meant, just seems like a really small market compared to the Porsche market they've been in forever.
