Default Adjusting ride height with DRM coil-over?

Just purcashed an 03 Z with these coil-overs.
I just ordered some CCW C14's and would like to take about another inch of ride height out.
I have not had the car in the air yet but,was wondering how i will go about this and if i will need any special tools.
Thanks-Dominic

My DRMs were easy enough to set by hand. But the spanner could help. I have the short one. I doubt the large one would fit well in the wheel well.

Keep in mind that an inch on the spring collar is not an inch in ride height. Also do a search, Randy@DRM has published an image in the past about where to set the spring perches for very good results.

The spanner wrench may or may not be needed. I can send you one if needed. This is a good place to start with the springs. If you have any other questions let me know!

Default Thanks Men!

Just to clarify,as i have not owned coil-overs before, the shocks must come off of the car?
Also Randy, any idea how far down the collar must go to take out the 1" from the lowest position an unmodified C5 would be at the lowest adjustment?

I don't know what ride height that would be. That ride height is about 1.5 inch lower then a stock car. Every .4-.5 inches down will get you around a 1 inch lower.

You can adjust them right on the car.

Just as a note, remember, changing ride height changes camber, changing camber changes toe. So you'll likely want (er, need) to get an alignment after you mess with the ride height.

A set of scales is the first thing you want / need. You need to know what your corner weights are to properly set up a car.

Don't worry about ride heights, worry about corner weights.

If you go with coil overs, you need the scales or at least access to a set of scales.

FYI my DRM coilovers show exactly 2.5 inches of thread versus randy's picture showing 3.1 to 3.4. My car is slammed but no rubbing issues. But I will raise it over the winter because its crazy low for street driving.
