Default Oem wheels & hoosiers tires

Planning on using oem speedline whls for road coarse use. Bit concerned if the fronts will be wide enough with HOOSIER 275/35/18 front on the 18x9.5 wheel.
ADVISE please.
THANKS

Depending on the model of Hoosier, that should be fine. The Koni Challenge 275-35-18s are recommended to use 10-10.5" rims. I know a LOT of guys running 9" rims with no issues. The A6 Hoosiers are fine with a 9-11" rim.

I've seen 295s on 8.5 x 18s and I use to run 285s on the 9.5 x 18s so you should be fine with 275s on the 9.5x18s.

Shifter

I think you're talking about a C6 Z06.

I'm just a track rookie, but on my C6 Z06 I've been running the Hoosier R6 in stock sizes on OE wheels, and they work great.

Hoosier has:

P275/35ZR18 10.3" 25.5" 80.2" 9-11"
P285/30ZR18 10.9" 24.9" 78.1" 10-11"
P295/30ZR18 10.8" 25.3" 79.5" 9.5-11"

After the tire size above, the other #'s are tread width, diameter, circumference, and recommended wheel width.

I've heard of guys running both the 285 or the 295 (they are both 30 profile instead of 35). It's strange that the minimum wheel width above for the 285 is 10", but the 295 will fit on a 9.5" wheel.

I think the 295 has been reported to rub at full steering lock, but if your track won't require full lock then they might work okay.

For the rear I've been running the Hoosier in stock 325/30-19 size on OE wheels. I've seen the 345/30-19 on stock wheels and they seem to fit in the wheel well okay, but they're tight. Here's the specs on them:

P325/30ZR19 12.2" 26.8" 84.1" 12-13"
P345/30ZR19 13.0" 26.8" 84.3" 12-13"

So.....I run the Hoosiers in stock C6 Z06 sizes on stock C6 Z06 wheels and they're great!!! There's a lot of contact patch and those sizes work together very well for me at my rookie driving level.

You could go up a size and get a little more tread width (the first the# after the tire size above) for a little bigger contact patch but you'd be risking some rubbing.

Good luck, and c'ya at the track!!

Thats correct iam referring to my c6zo6 with HOOSIER R6 on oem whls. Was concerned that the front would not be enough rubber with the 275/30/18 tire on a 18x9.5 wheel verses CCW that uses a 295 on a 18x11.
After late 07 , GM had their whls manufactered by SPEEDLINE.

FWIW - I'm running 275/18 R6's on a 18x9.5 with No issues whatsoever.

Me too. If you run the 285 or 295 they are only about 1/2" wider tread.

The 275 puts a nice contact patch down and will give you great braking and turn-in.

If you're doing W2W racing and need every tenth of a second, you can go with a sticky true racing slick, but if you're doing HPDEs, the 275 will give you great grip.

Try 'em....you'll like 'em!!!
