Default Road Race modified FX3 controller

This thing is cool. This controller's program was modified by Bilstein for road race applications. In the sport (middle) setting the controller sets all 4 shocks full hard. In the Tour setting is softens either the front or rear a little (don't remember which - was easy to tell at speed on the race track). Perf does the opposite. Works very well for dialing out over / under steer on the fly while on the track. Car pushing a little too much though the corners? Flip the switch and it gets better instantly. This also works well for drag racing - soften the rear with the front hard for maximum weight transfer at launch.

It's on a well known auction site as I have no idea what it's worth. Searching for "FX3 race" should turn it up.

Wouldn't be fair to the people who've already bid on it to pull it now - I on;y end them if there are no bids. Just bid $45 at the last second and you might get it for a lot less.

DRM use to sell a modified controller

A must for autox'ers since the factory setup is speed dependent!

I have one of the DRM modified units sitting on a shelf in my basement. I haven't had a C4 since 1999, so if anybody would like to buy mine, shoot me a note! Someone should get some use out of it.

As I recall, it locked the fronts at fill stiff, and you could adjust the rears in order to tune the handling. It worked great for autocrossing. Probably would be just as good for track days or racing!

Sounds just like mine - all of the tuners probably sent them to Bilstein for the same treatment.

I know if I still had my car there's no way I'd be selling mine - they are awesome.

I'd be interested in yours if I miss the other one. I've got a '91 Z07

If I recall this is only good for the 91 and up FX3 cars... is that correct? If it will work on a 89 please put me in line.

Thanks,

Daniel

All the info I have been able to find says '89-'95 are the same part. But I can't swear to it. If someone were to bid on mine and win and then it wouldn't fit I'd refund the purchase less shipping no problem.

I think Bilstein still has these.

I have had one for years(got it from Exotic Muscle), I am embarrassed to say I mistakenly thought that Performance was full firm; that is the one I have been using and I like it. Just to reconfirm, sport is full firm, touring is oversteer? and Performance is understeer?

Those last 2 may be backwards - I never memorized them. I started in the middle and then if the handling needed help I switched it one way or the other. If it got better I left it if worse I flipped the other way.

Exotic muscle is where mine is from too - I could not remember their name until you said it. Too many drinks from aluminum cans I guess.
