Default VBP front adjustable spring 2 questions

Hi,

I am installing the VBP adjustable front spring on my 1992. I know from reading some prior threads that you may have to sand the spring to clear the stock sway bar mount.

I was wondering if anyone knows if the spring (rubber mounts) are off-set to move the spring towards the front or rear of car? I ask because the spring hits the sway-bar mount. Its not even close to fitting.

Also the adjuster I got with the spring seems to be too short. The pad on the adjuster looks like a umbrella. The photos (of the adjusters) I have seen on this forum look different than what I have.

As always I greatly appreciate the help!!

Steven

Contact tech services. My spring fit just fine on my 88, , and although close, it did clear the sway bar. They hav three different length adjusters. Call them and they will suppy the correct length at no charge.

Yes I will call on Monday. Good to know that yours went in with no issues. I probably have it in wrong. I will take it out tomorrow and check.

Just curious what does your adjuster look-like?

Thank you!

Very similar to the C5 adjusters. Allen bolt screws into the spring from the bottom, big hard rubber pad rests on the lower control arm. I used the longest ones they had and still have them run down all they way, but I had considerably lightened the car.

THANKS! They are going to send me a different set. I had the spring in right-but not the mounts. The mounts are offset. It is still close to the sway bay mount. I may change the mount to some sort of link set-up.

Thanks Again,
Steve
