Default Removing HP+ Rust from Wheels

I am changing to carbotechs after running HP+s for a fwe years. The Pluses have left a lot of "rust" speckles on my wheels. I not finicky about cleaning stuff but would like to get this rusty road rash buildup off. Any tips?

depending on how much of it is there and how long it has been on, it may have bonded to the finish and you will never get it off, or you will have blemished spots where it was. one of the reasons I do not use hawks anymore (although i used blues and that stuff was vicious on the wheels, hp+ should not be that bad)

Get new rotors for the carbotechs too.

Start with milder cleaner & increase to stronger.

Simple Green

Wheel cleaner product (Meguiars, etc.)

Brake cleaner (don't let it sit too long or run off in streaks, it'll cloud up the clear coat)

Use a scrubbing pad with above that will NOT scratch the coating on the wheel.

Clean wheels off the car if you can, much easier.

Finish with a wax & make it easier next time.

The longer you wait between cleaning the harder it will be.

I actually took my sphion sand blaster with " 000 silica sand" and gave it a shot...did not do much and did not phase the powder coating.
I will try the chemical cleaners first the go for the prelonged blast...maybe over the winter.
Thanks for the tip on the rotor change out.
