Default Leaving for the June Sprints tomorrow!!

Rhonda and I will be leaving to compete at the Sprints tomorrow. We apologize for not keeping everyone as up to date as we used to, things have been, umm, crazy lately. We hope to remedy that over the next couple of weeks. Rhonda will be updating the site soon with vids, pics and blog.

I'll give the short and sweet now. This year has been pretty good so far, a win at NHIS and 2nd at Summit. Summit Point was a war with me just missing the win to Dave Sanders by about a car length. I had the fastest times in T1 all weekend, testing, quals and race. Couldn't get it done though, traffic dictated things. We have never done the Sprints since we never thought we could be competitive but this year I'm driving the best I ever have, the car is pretty good and I just really want to race at Road America. So here we go! We are taking the dive! I'm ready to have a great time even if i end up getting crushed, I just want to experience a running at the Sprints. I had a blast crewing for my buddy Chris Ingle last year, now it's time to drive it!

The hotel has wifi so we will try to keep everyone posted! For now I get ready to haul 15 hours to the track and hope to see you all soon at the VIR NCM event!

Cheers!

Good luck, do me a favor start closer to the back so we can watch cool video of you moving through the pack, running up front flag to flag makes for boring video.

So does anyone have any predictions? Top 3?

If any of the Ferarri Challenge cars show up all of the T1 guys in the above list will be bringing a knife to a gun fight.

1. Buttermore
2. Miller
3. (any number of about 6 different drivers - Pintaric, Knupp, Lynch, Tracy, Berk... Joe (Gaudette) is new to the track and it does take some time to get used to. I don't know how light he's able to get it either. I don't know too many of the other names, so I don't know how good they are.

Buttermore and Miller should clear the field by at least 1 second per lap. I'd expect to see a mid 2:24 at least from both of them...especially considering that Buttermore is now 60-80 lbs lighter than last year.

Be careful and have fun guys! The kink can be a handful!

Here's to a safe race and roadtrip both to and from........

I was going to come up to watch but alas, my favorite neice has asked me to give her away at her wedding this weekend so my 'roadtrip' will be to Georgia instead of up North.

Best of luck to all......

Steve,

That is SOOOOOO cool. Kudos to you for having that impact of your niece.

BTW, colonel, I plan on giving it the old college try this weekend. After our run at Mid Ohio two weeks ago, I think I got something for young Mr. Buttermore....

Joe,

Looking forward to seeing you again. I am thinking of getting in 9 or maybe even 18 holes at 430 or 5 pm at Quit Qui Oc on Friday evening. Stop by our paddock if you want to join us. That goes for everyone. If anyone has info if Crystal Lake is better or not let me know. You can use my clubs, but I must warm you they were new in 1998.

Quit Qui Oc is better by far, if you can play the glacial 9 it's newer and I like it the best. (I've been in a golf league at QQO for 10 years).

As always for any of you guys our shop is only 15 miles from RA so if you guys need anything please don't hesitate to call. I'll be out there friday afternoon and all day Saturday.

See ya soon,
Joel

1) M.P. Tracy - The LS3 should do very well there.
2) Buttermore - Very fast there last couple of years.
3) Knupp/Miller - Tough call.
