Default Approx. EGTs for a LSX motor? Figured you guys would know best.

I'm looking at fresh headers for my Z06 street car and will have them costed with Jet Hot Sterling this go around. Thing is Jet Hot makes a 1300 degree coating and an 1700 degree silver coating. The 1300 degree is shinier and looks better than the 1700.

What knid of temps to header primaries reach on your average properly tuned NA car?

The car won't see HPDE use, but if I do some back country hard driving, auto-x, or drag racing I don't want to be on the edge of what the coating can handle.

I would look over at LS1tech.com, I've seen idle temps around 500 degree's, but I would say go for the higher temp coating, more is better.

Problem is the 1700 degree coating is duller (is that a word?) than the 1300 stuff.

I just spoke to a Jet-Hot rep... he said with their nTecnology coating the 1700 extreme silver is just as shiney as the 1300 degree stuff.

I'm going to go that route
