I have mixed feelings about this one if it is true. I would've loved for this to have happened when Champ Car was still alive. Now that Champ Car is dead and both series are back together, I don't know...

If spending money is the problem, I don't see the series surviving. The series is running on a shoestring budget as it is. There are more talented drivers out there than there are rides in the IRL.

I certainly wouldn't want Humpy Wheeler running it. He would probably purposly run it into the ground and sell it for pennies on the dollar to the France family.

All this said, as much as I hate TG, I see some positive things happening now for the IRL. I'd hate to see the plug pulled on it right when they are finally starting to gain some momentum.

Well, we can hope it's true but the damage is already done. It's going to take a real visionary to get open wheel racing interesting again.

Yeah I was there all day Sunday for the 600 only to see nothing at all. We had freaking awesome seats too. Couldn't go back for the re-run on Monday.

Our front row seats in turn 2

Not happy...

One of the few perks of having a disabled brother is great seats at most sporting events

The only thing I ever liked about Tony George was that he never blackmailed the city/state or asked for public funds. When the F1 track was built, it was on his dime alone. Etc. The Colts need to learn from that example. If you can't guess I'm not a fan of corporate welfare.
