Default Sebring HSR - 68 Corvette in car

This is an in car clip from the the 2nd feature race at Sebring this past weekend. We reset the lap record at 2:15.6. The car is a 68 with stock brakes and suspension - and a big motor... I will have the 1st feature race in car for you guys tomorrow. We have a spot open in our trailer for the Mitty at Road Atlanta if anyone is interested in going.

Wow -- Great video - Brings back many memories of my 69 car. Doing great for stock suspension and brakes. How long did the brakes last before they went away ?? Thanks for posting.

We have built titanium insulators that attach to the top half of the stock aluminum piston with the same dimensions as the J-56 insulators. Coupled with SRF, we can run all day... They are available on our website at www.duntovmotors.com under the brake section if you need a set. Most of our Corvette competitors run them.

Great video!

It definitely makes you appreciate the modern Corvette brakes... I remember racing our old '72 Corvette, and having to let off way earlier than in the Z06. And just as you see in the video, when you do start to apply the brakes, the car likes to dart around a bit. VERY cool video for sure!

Couldn't have said it better myself (although I don't have the memories of running an early Shark). Did I hear you get into the rev limiter right at the end of the video while in 3rd gear? What a sound!

Thanks for sharing, and have a good one,
Mike

Yeah the old brakes do dart. You can toe the front end in and it gets better but sacrifices turn in. Yes that was the rev limiter at 8k, dont tell anyone.

I wonder if the jeep steering box helps with that, a lot of the faster guys are running them.

I should have one in my car pretty soon.
