Alms Corvette GT2 Sebring Winter Test Video
Hi guys,
Video from our recent Winter test at Sebring for the ALMS series.
The front camera was not very clear but if you know Sebring, you will be able to get a good idea of the track that session. The Car was on Dunlop tires, not new, and overall the car has gained plenty since last season.
Enjoy

We are testing a driver from Brazil tomorrow. If they like the car and if they want to run that race (and maybe the whole season) then we will be there.
If not, then we are a no show.
Thanks

Cool video. I don't know how hard you were pushing it or what your setup was but the car certainly looked smooth. It looked stable under braking and smooth on power, no wild steering inputs.
Reading your comments about testing today I was thinking that was going to be bad. It would take a blow torch to get the tires to temp and in general the weather is nasty around here. What happened to the 80 degrees from last week? Good luck Lou, it's great to hear you will make Sebring.

The in car video usually don't show how much the tires are sliding but I can tell you that the tires are on the edge of traction most of the time.
Like going into the hairpin, I am pushing the pedal so hard that my butt is lifting off the seat while I am grabbing 4 gears on the down shift and heel and toeing. Where on the video as I watch it, I always think that it is too bad that there isn't a way to show the "Panic" that comes into play in a corner like that. Coming down from over 150mph to a 30 mph corner in 300-400 feet is not really that easy. but on the video it looks that way.
And coming into turn 17 (last turn before pits), we are hitting 165mph but we have to slow down to about 70mph (bottom of 3rd gear). And if you get slightly off line, you are in the dusty part and the car will just skate off into the tire wall (yes, I did that last year )
Still, I would rather be on the edge of my race seat than on the edge of my office seat.
See you at the races.

That's great, so then the car is pretty stable? By watching your steering inputs it doesn't look twitchy to me. I don't doubt that there is a lot of pucker factor at those speeds and distances but clearly it is more comfortable when you feel you have some measure of confidence that control inputs will yield desired results rather than wondering which way the car will dart this time.

Great to hear that you will be running Sebring!
I'll be heading down next Tuesday ... planning to be in the pits and Padock area on Thursday, so I'll be sure to drop by and say "Hi!".

Good news!
When might this mystery Brazilian driver will be revealed? Don't suppose we could get the scoop here on the CF...
Anyway, best of luck. Those of us who can't make it in person will be there in spirit, and watching for your team on TV. Hope the weather cooperates.

Down to the wire and down to the ulser.
His name is Lucas Molo from Rio Brazil. He has driven Alfa Touring cars in Italy and Brazil, plus a Ferrari 360 and a Ferrari 550 in the 1000 mile race at Interlagos track.
Other than the basic bio info, I will not see him in the car until next Monday's test at Sebring.
Also in the car with us will be Eric Curran from World Challenge series whelen Corvette.
See you at the races.
