Harness setup for Z06 seats
I have a 6 point harness setup for my C5Z06 that is used for occasional track days. The stock seat back keeps the belts appart, and leaves a gap in the belts over my chest. I'm looking to improve that without going to race seats. Has anyone found a good way around this problem, short of cutting holes in the seat back?

Last year many groups said they were not going to allow the harness to go around the seat.
I am not sure if any implemented that rule but I would check into that before buying anything.

I would strongly advise against that setup. I believe it's way too dangerous. You really need some way of keeping those belts exactly where they need to be. If you, God forbid roll the car, there is no telling where you/belts are going to end up. The whole point is to keep you planted in the seat.
I modified my seat here.

That is also a challenge as a SINGLE point or button for harness release should be used for saftey.
In short, get some rubber tool box liner to put on the seat bottom to keep you from sliding and sinch up the OEM belts

sternum straps should be sewn into the belts so they don't slide up and crush your throat. I did use some slide on ones but also used the stock seat belts with the 5 point.
It is a mute point though, as others have mentioned, you need racing seats if you have belts at most DE's now.
Also, ignoring the above, don't be afraid to crank down on the shoulder belts they will move closer together.

I use a Team Tech Jet Pilot harness:

The sternum strap is sewn in, and it has leg straps that prevent the driver/passenger from sliding out from under the belts in the event of an incident. The shoulder straps do go around the stock seat and feel fine when everything's tightened up. It's a PITA to get into though!
Both me and my dad have the same setup and we've never had any problems being legal with these. I've run HPDEs with TDE (The Driver's Edge) and NASA in TX and he runs the Big Bend Open Road Race in west Texas and the Pony Express 130 and Silver State Classic in Nevada, all in the 155 mph class. I hope someone would've said something by now!
