C5 axle to C4 bearing hub question
Hello All.
While helping my brother with his 66 427 restoration he suggested your forum as a favorite for helpful infomation. I'm building a mid-engine
66 corvair with an '04 XLR Northstar, saginaw 4 speed, C5 differential and axles. Its stock rear control arms are similar to a C2 and I would like to modify them for use with C4 or C5 rear brakes.
So here is my question:
Does any one know if a C4 rear bearing /hub will fit onto a C5 axle
and or do C4 C5 hubs share the same 3 bolt pattern? The C4 emergency brake backing plate/caliper mount also looks like a
good part to include. Any ideas to help marry these together would
be greatfully apperciated.
Thanks Bob.

I can't tell you if the C4 bearings will fit, but if you find that they do, take a look at this link -
