Default Suspension Specialist in NY/NJ

Looking for something closer than Phoenix ( 2 1/2 hrs. away), but the same type of quality. Prefer a shop that is exclusively suspension work and can handle work on coil overs, adjustable shocks, and stability control. Would like the shop within an hour of North Jersey

Never used them, but from what I've read, ECS may be worth checking out.

Another option is IMP Motorsports in Clifton NJ. I am going to assume you are in North Jersey, so this should be in your backyard. They are also known as PDA, and run driving schools in the NE. IMP is the specialist shop that works on race car preparation (side business). They definately have experience in setting up race suspensions and cornerweight and such, since they run PDA/NASA NE.

Phoenix is the best bet, as they are a specialized in Corvettes and have the undisputed winning history in T1/2. There are a LOT of people who would kill to have Phoneix only 2.5 hours away. My car is set up by Phoenix and it runs like stink.

If you are going coil overs, you have made setting up the car a whole lot easier and I would say IMP is more than competent. If you are staying with leafs, shops that don't specialize in setting up Corvette suspension may not be as well versed on how to adjust and cornerweight a leaf car correctly. But once you put on coil-overs, it's like setting up any other car.

ECS from my experience is top notch, and I only have great things to say about them. Doug is a strait up guy (rare these days) and it has always been a pleasure dealing with them. I wish I had more money to spend with them, they have helped me out so much.

I've been running with PDA for 6 years and I know Joe and IMP very well. He's done a lot of work on two of my cars, as well as my sons. And I've done more than 30 track days with PDA. Joe doesn't do alignments, although he has a shop he recommends. His work is very good, but I'm looking more for a specialist like Phoenix.

ECS is a great group and they've done work on my Corvette. I've done a number of track days with Doug, Chris, Bob and the ECS gang. But the work I want done is actually on my CTS-V and they weren't able to help me on this car.

Phoenix did some alignment work on my Corvette, but not only is it 2 1/2 hours away, but you end up sitting there all day.

(Hmm, now that I think of it I've used practically all the best ones on my cars--IMP, ECS, Corvettes of Westchester, CarTech, Phoenix, TPP, etc. I've got to stop doing this.)

So...I'm still looking.
