Default Question for LS-6 builders/tuners

My LS-6 features AFR 205' heads, a G5X3 cam. and LG long tubes. I do 10-12 track events a year. I'm running stock throttle body, manifold, and injectors. Would I benefit from going to larger injectors?? If so what size would be best? Would a ported 90mm TB add any significant power?

I would think you are putting out close to 440/450 RWHP depending on compression ratio. With stock LS6 (28.8 lb) injectors you are definitely running 100% plus duty cycle at WOT.

I would say 30 lb Ford SVO (comparable to 36 lb. GM) injectors or 39 lb LS3 injectors. 42 lbs would also not be a bad choice.

Some testing from guys on LS1 tech forum indicated a pickup of both mid range and top end with 90mm throttle body and LS6 intake. If you want it ported I would send it to Tony Mamo at AFR.

You might benefit by moving up to 36 pound injectors.

Here is a link to a site that explains how to size injectors and provides a worksheet for making calculations. It uses crank HP not rwhp.

Get some injectors and a good tune before you blow that thing up!

As for the intake/tb, when I got my car it had a ported LS6 mani and ported stock TB. It's a stock displacement build w/ mildly ported heads (not as nice as your AFRs) and a smallish cam (224/230, .591/.591, 113). I did 428RWHP after a good tune. I put a FAST 90mm mani and a 90mm TB on it and picked up 14RWHP (got to 442) but also some torque (I think ~10 at peak) and power was up across the entire pull. Some ppl told me I'd lose low-end torque but I did not.

Thanks for the info and the website. I think I will upsize the injectors this winter. My last dyno sheet showed 465 RWHP on Phoenix's Dynotech on a 88 degree day.

I have a very similar set up to yours and I went to 36lb injectors and all is good once again in duty cycle world, just make sure they are flow tested. Fast 92/90 would probably get you another 10rwhp

On a heads/cam car already making 460 wheel hp, I fast 90/90 would net ~ 20hp and 25tq in the midrange, if not more.
