any race tires fit on stock C6 wheels?
I'm looking for a road race tire (dot approved like the R888 is fine) for track use. I can't seem to find anything that will fit the stock C6 wheels. Any help?

http://marktg.toyotires.com/file/30029.pdf -- Toyo R888 also comes in 19in sizes. Including a 305/30r19 that's 26.5in tall, which is pretty darn good for a C6 (non-Z) rear. They also have a shorter 295 that might match well with their 265 front on [small] stock rims.

I may occasionally drive to the track on them (Laguna's about 40 min away, Sears about the same) I'm leaning toward the R888s. Anyone have a good price on them in sizes that won't make the car complain?

Since you're SFBA, check out David Bonar @ Northstar Corvettes, or AIM Tires @ Sears Point, or ... www.toyo.com and check the dealers link -- I don't believe Toyo is as evil as some other manufacturers about only letting certain dealers sell their DOT-R tires.
If you're willing to pay for shipping to get some expertise, call John or Chip @ CCW (www.ccwheel.com). They'll set you up with the right size tires and the price is about on par with anywhere else I've seen them.
Northstar Corvette has the fancy dancy Hunter tire mount & balance stuff, I believe...

I use R888s as my track tire on my C6Z51. P255/35ZR-18 on the front and P295/30ZR-19 on the rear. These sizes maintain the same F-R ratio (within 1/10") and lower the car about a 1/2". Plus, you can drive on the street to the track in your case. If they aren't shaved, not too bad in the rain as long as you have them mounted properly direction wise.
